Privacy and Refund Policy

Welcome to the "Give & Join" website of The Rockefeller University ("The Rockefeller University" or the "University").

Registration

You may register for an account on giveandjoin.rockefeller.edu. Registration will allow you to maintain your contact information and preferences, sign up for exclusive online features, purchase tickets, register for University events with greater ease, and receive notifications about topics that may interest you. If you decide to register for an account, you will be asked to provide personal identifying information, including your name, email address, and mailing address, and you will be asked to establish a username and password. You may review or change your account information at any time on the My Account page.

E-Newsletters and E-Alerts

If you provide us with your email address, the University will provide you with the opportunity to receive its online communications about news, events, or activities relating to the University. You may at any time unsubscribe by following the instructions at the bottom of any e-communication, or alternatively, opt out by emailing us at giveandjoin@rockefeller.edu.

Online Donations

When you make an online donation to The Rockefeller University, you will be asked to provide information that is needed to process your gift. This information includes your name, billing address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information. Your credit card information will be used only as needed to process your transaction and will not be retained in the University’s records after the transaction is processed.

Use of Information Collected from You

The University uses the personal information that you provide for the purposes described above, including processing donations, event registrations, ticket purchases, and online communications. The University also uses this information for its internal purposes, including the creation or an update of a record about you in the University’s donor database.

It is the University’s policy to keep in confidence its donors’ names, except in the following circumstances:

  • it is the University’s common and established practice to list gifts in its newsletters, annual reports, event invitations, event programs, etc.; and/or
  • the gift qualifies for a naming opportunity elected by the donor; and/or
  • the donor gives express permission to the University to make his/her gift public as part of a written document or other direct communication; and/or
  • the University is obliged by law to provide information regarding the gift.

If you would like for your name and/or contribution to remain anonymous, please let the University know so that it can honor your request.

Cookies

Anonymous and registered users may receive cookies while visiting the “Give & Join” website while their browser is open. If you do not wish to grant us this right, you should change your cookie settings in your browser.

Materials on the "Give & Join" website may link to independently run websites outside of our web domain over which the University has no control. The University is not responsible for the privacy policy, security, or content of these websites. Once you leave our website, our privacy policy will not apply.

The "Give & Join" website secure server software uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology, which encodes your personal information, including your name, address and credit card number, as the information travels over the Internet. If you prefer, you may make a contribution or register for an event by telephone at: (212) 327-8922 for gifts; and (212) 327-7434 for event registrations; or by fax for gifts and/or event registrations at (212) 327-7752.

Refunds

By making a charitable gift to The Rockefeller University, a 501(c)(3) organization, the donor understands that donations are non-refundable.
